August has come and gone in a flash, with the added bonus of some nice weather. We have had a very busy month on the farm and are pleased to announce the success of our sheep at Honiton and Melplash Shows.
To our surprise our Stock Ram ‘Bond’ won the Dorset Down Breed Champion at Honiton in a very strong championship class. He then managed to take the Breed Champion title at Melplash Show for the second year running. We were also delighted to be awarded Reserve Champion with our 6 tooth ewe on her debut outing to a show as well as winning the medium sized on farm flock competition, making Melplash our most successful show ever. Back on the farm, normal life carries on for our sheep despite their show successes; we will soon be preparing for the tups (rams) to go in and the cycle starting again ready for next year’s crop of lambs.
